You wouldn't have more comprehensive instruction on doing this conversion. Like what you did about the 7th injector , knock sensor and the fan control. I think that the ECM in my 85 SE may have went the way of the DODO and this sounds like a great upgrade.

Well like I had said it would depend on budget how soon I could start. Starting the first I will be getting part of the 10% cut in pay back and we'll see if we get the variable pay back this next year. So I have not done anything on the car.

I have been spending a lot of time on my son's 86' K5 Blazer. He's in the Army and currently in Germany and I will most likely not get to see him until next summer. I hope to have it done by then, well most of it. It may still need a paint job. Then it will get stored until he out of the service, in 4 years.

I hope by next summer to be getting started back on this project. I still have not made my mind up as to what I am going to put in it. I like the idea of the Ecotec, but I like the sound of a V8. Also the V8 is cheaper to build and there is a lot of support out there for doing that swap. But the V8 in a few hundred pound heavier. That may not be a bad thing if the motor is going to be pushing 3 to 400 hp.

Anyway thanks for visiting.

I have a 84 Indy Pace Car with 38k miles. I was experiencing oil in the air filter. Once the motor was apart I found the rings were not the correct size. I bored the block, installed new pistons, rings, lifters and a mild cam (1500-5000rpm) When I start the motor it knocks untill the engine idle drops, I tried shimming the rockers to tighten up the push rods but didnt fix the problem Any ideas??? Motor was quite prior to the rebuild.
Thanks,
Paul
